This class is a gentle yoga class that is accessible for any body type of level. The class begins with a relaxing and gentle yoga flow that lasts for about 30 minutes. The last half of the class brings the awareness inwards with yoga nidra and sound healing. This is a relaxing and rejuvenating way to recenter mind, body and spirit. What is Yoga nidra? Yoga Nidra translates to yogic sleep. Unlike yoga asana where the focus is physical postures yoga nidra is a practice focused on deep states of conscious relaxation. This ancient form of yoga focuses on rest and relaxation. Yoga nidra guides to a state of where the body is fully at rest while the mind is still fully aware and able to sink into deep states of relaxation. Yoga nidra can be practiced by anyone and holds great healing benefits for anyone looking to gain a deeper connection with their inner landscape and experience a deeper sense of peace. This ancient form of yoga focuses on rest and relaxation. How does it work? Yoga Nidra is a systematic practice of moving awareness from our external world to the inner world. Yoga Nidra encourages finding stillness and softness within the body. Through various guided meditation techniques, yoga nidra allows you to drift into deep states of relaxation. as the mind and body relaxes you shift into the parasympathetic nervous system. Here our body is best able to heal and regenerate removing toxins on a cellular level, rejuvenating the mind and removing baggage from the subconscious. What benefits does yoga nidra have? The practice of yoga nidra actually gives the body the opportunity to regenerate and expel the toxins out of the system. Through this process the body starts to conserve energy. Helping reduce fatigue and rejuvenate the brain. After yoga nidra, you will be fresh and energized as if you have slept an entire night's rest. What is sound healing? Being enveloped in therapeutic sound vibrations are healing on the mind, body and emotional states. Science shows us that we essentially live in a world of vibration. Boiled down we are cells and atoms making us creatures of vibration and frequency. Sound healing is vibrational medicine that helps shift the mind, body and spirit into harmonious states. Listening to harmonious tones shifts us into deep states of relaxation and rest. Sound healing is also commonly called sound bathing, vibrational healing and sound meditations.
